Swim Coaches

Paul Simms

Paul is a silver licensed coach with over 34 years experience.

Paul attended the AIS at the same time as Scott. He was a Victorian swimmer.

Paul has been involved in many teams and squads over the years. He attended the 2002 World Championships in Argentina and most notably Paul was the Paralympic coach for Queensland at the Athens Olympics in 2004. Paul was the coach of Chantel Wolfenden OAM PLY who swam a very successful Paralympics.

Paul has served as a Para coach for SQ and a TID coach for Age group swimmers.

Two of Pauls swimmers have gone onto be awarded scholorships to Bond University. Connor Simms was awarded the Gina Rhineart Scholarship.

Scott Hamlet

Scott also has over 34 years coaching and is a silver level coach.

Scott is past Australian team member representing Australia at the Junior Olympics in Japan and travelling on swim teams to Europe.

Scott along with Duncan Armstrong, Mark Stockwell and Justin Lemberg broke the Commonwealth record in the 4 x 200m freestyle relay in 1988.

Scott was awarded scholarship to swim for the University of Alabama.

Scott has a passion for coaching junior and senior swimmers and attends club nights, local, regional, state and school swimming meets.

Sarah Watson

Sarah is a development coach with three years experience.

Sarah is a swimmer who has come through the BSA program from babies to attending State level meets.

Sarah teaches babies and toddlers, learn to swim and squads.

Sarah is a level one team manager.

Sarah organises our winter club nights and our L platers meet each year for the Rum City Masters swimming club

Sarah attends club nights and local meets.
